The Woman in Black has continuously performed in London's West End for
over 20 years to over 7 million people who have lived to tell the tale of one of
the most exciting, spooky, gripping and successful theatre events ever staged.
Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation of Susan
Hill’s best selling Victorian ghost story combines the power and intensity of live theatre
with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. It is a formula
that provides audiences with an evening of unremitting drama as they are
transported into a terrifying and ghostly world.
A keen young solicitor is sent to wind up the affairs of a recently deceased
woman and pieces together the details of her strange reclusive life alone
in a remote, old, and mysterious house. Years later, as an old man, he
recounts the experience in a desperate attempt to exorcise the ghosts
of the past.
